MISS SAIGON.

Re-worked musical from the Drury Lane production in the eighties, now in smaller theatre. Excellant
music and was a worthy follow-up to Les Mis. Some critics disliked the "message" but theatregoers
were not put off.They poured in. A revival will be a good idea as many young people have only
heard the music and not seen the show. I expect this revival to so very well. 8/10 chance of success.

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY.

Tim Rice's new musical slated for later in the year. The film was a hit but I find it difficult to
realise this as a choice for a new musical. The kissing scene on the beach with the waves overlapping
the young lovers (Deborah Kerr, Burt Lancaster), the short fuse of Maggio played in the film by
Sinatra. (An oscar winning performance. He was good at shirt fuses) . South Pacific comes to mind.
It's the music and melodies that have to be secure.....if it's Mr Rice the lyrics will be.  7/10 chance
of success.

STEPHEN WARD.

The Profumo scandal set to dramatic ballads.   A new slant? Andrew Lloyd Webber in charge


Does this excite the public now, after fifty years ? A lot of questions about this worries me,however
there is a real person as the key figure and this worked extremely well in "Evita". At least it's not
a follow-up as Love did die at his last outing. 6/10 chance of success.
